Drumroll, please…The fundraising total is in from this year’s Pawject Runway! We are ecstatic to report that this was our biggest year ever, raising $130,000 in donations, and spreading awareness—through a record 1,200 attendees—for Baltimore's homeless, neglected and abused animals. Baltimore’s animals are saying ‘thank you’ with many happy tail wags and loud purrs.

We’d like to first thank our event partners—our very best friends—Show Your Soft Side, for another wonderful year. We are honored to work alongside you on this event, but more importantly in our fight to end animal abuse in Baltimore. Your team, your “Softies” and your commitment to the animals is second to none.

Many special thanks are in order for our generous sponsors including Presenting Sponsors: Pet Valu and Royal Farms Arena; Gold Sponsors: Harvey Agency, Maria & Matt Wieters, Gary and Robin Bozel Charitable Foundation; Antwerpen Motors and RBC/Dyer Kroneberger & Hobson, Tito’s, Hotel Indigo, and, Profiles, Inc.; Silver Sponsors: Baltimore Ravens, Pet+ ER, Moxie Rocket, Gary Bozel & Assoc, Legal Technology Solutions, Image 360, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, Media Star Promotions and Pixilated Photo BoothBronze Sponsors: Baltimore Injury Clinics, Industrial Roll, Condor, Inc.,  the MTA, Dugan, Babij, Tolley, and Kohler, LLC.; along with the generous sponsorship gifts from so many other companies and families. Each of you played an important role in making this event a major success.

Thank you to all of the “Softie” models for strutting your stuff down the runway with our BARCS adoptables. Big-hearted Raven Ronnie Stanley adopted one of the four-footed models, Zappa, to add to his furry, BARCS alumni family. Baltimore Raven Alex Lewis already has a full rescue house, so his sister adopted his runway companion Chan—the top hat wearing puppy that slept in Alex’s arms as he walked the runway. And, this year's Junior Softie Avery Lippe, convinced her dad that Connor, the scruffy who-knows-what mix, was going home with them!

Thank you to our selfless BARCS foster families who cared for our doggy and kitty models in their homes leading up to the event. Your sleepless nights filled with puppy barking, potty training, screaming kittens and round-the-clock bottle feeding allowed each of your fosters to find their forever homes.

Speaking of “forever homes,” Torrey Smith took to the stage at the end of the show to announce that he and his wife, Chanel, would be paying the adoption fees for all 46 cats and dogs at Saturday’s show. A big thank you to Torrey and Chanel for always looking out for Baltimore's homeless dogs and cats and having such a big heart for our city.

Of the 46 animals up for adoption, 31 found families and we still have 2 dog and 13 kitten models in need of a safe place to call home. Their adoption fees are waived thanks to the Smith family.

Pawject Runway is made possible thanks to the dozens of volunteers from BARCS and Show Your Soft Side who join forces to do everything from registration to backstage puppy wrangling. Thank you!

We'd also like to give a double shout out to the Royal Farms Arena and staff. This awesome team helped us secure sponsors and discounted food and parking for guests. The staff donated their time to not only setup the event, but manage the food tables, help with seating, provide security and stay late for tear down.

And last, but not least, thank you to the 2017 Pawject Runway committee and co-chairs John Rallo and Frank Remesch for all of your tireless hours of work on this event. From months of planning, to late-night meetings, to the wrangling of hundreds of auction items, to set up through teardown, each and every one of you made this event a wonderful, lifesaving success. You are invaluable, incredible, talented, kind and generous.
